Golden Highlighted Eyes and Nude Lips!

So this post is gonna be my first ever “tutorial” here on my blog. Honestly I did this look a few weeks back and had no intention on it being a tutorial I was just having fun with my makeup, but I really liked how it turned out so why not share it. I don’t have that many photos in terms of a step by step process because as I stated I didn’t know that I would be posting this but I believe it can still be useful. Firstly:

1. I primed my face with the BH cosmetics foundation primer.

2. I then did my usual eyebrow routine that I have a post on here

3. I primed my eyes with a white creamy base to make the colors more vibrant the NYX Jumbo pencil in milk will be perfect.

4. For the eyes I used my Nubian 2 & Masquerade palette. I used The shade “Jezebel” and “Morrocco” as my transition color then I went into the shade “Zobo” in my inner and outer corners in the middle I popped on the lovely gold color that you see “Nairobi”. For the inner come I used a lavender shimmer shade from my BH 88 shimmer palette. I then lined my waterline with a black pencil eyeliner (anyone would do the trick). I used some mascara to top of the look and as for lashes I was already wearing individuals from Ardell which I will do a blog post about “how to apply them” pretty soon.

5. For foundation I used the Milani conceal + perfect 2-in-1 concealer and foundation in chestnut before applying foundation however I color corrected with the l.a girl orange corrector.

6. Concealer I used my l’oreal true match in medium/deep that I absolutely love, and to highlight my l.a. girl concealer in warm honey.

7. Powder I used my l’oreal infallible pro-matte powder in classic tan that matches my skin perfectly and to set my under eye highlight I lightly baked using the Sacha Buttercup Setting Powder.

8. To contour I used the BH cosmetics contour & blush 2 palette

9. I finished off the look using Sacha cosmetics Intense lipshine gloss in “Whatever”, that I also have a review ohere

Hope you guys enjoyed this post/mini tutorial although its not as in depth as i would have liked it, I do promise to get better. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend.

Garnier SkinActive – Micellar Cleansing Water First Impressions and Review!

I want to jump right into this post as I am literally just done using this product for the first time and I want it to be fresh in my mind hence the FIRST impressions lol. I know I’m late to the party in giving this bad boy a try but hey better late than never right? I must admit I never really got fantastic results from a Garnier product in the past so I was going into this with my fingers crossed. But the hype behind this product was to big to ignore and to not give a try. When the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water was first launched it only had the one that most of us are familiar with which is the pink bottle (for all skin types). But since then they came out with a number of different types. Those specifically for oily skin, dry skin, acne prone and so on.

Garnier2
From left to right: dry & sensitive skin, all skin types (original), oily skin and oily acne prone skin.
Garnier3
I believe this was an original as well, its also for all sin types but it says it removes waterproof makeup as well.

Me however, being the oily faced hot mess that I am picked up the green one which is  designed for oily skin as it claims to be mattifying. Now I usually use my makeup removing wipes and call it a night because honestly ain’t nobody got time for the long tail skincare routines that we see on youtube, like honestly how do those girls do it? But I want to try as much beauty products for you guys and do reviews on them so why not hop on the bandwagon.

Anyways, actually trying out the product I must admit I did not have on alot of makeup on but it is a first impressions and from what I had on it removed it really quickly. Also it is not just a makeup remover it is also a cleanser hence the name “cleansing water”. And I must say it did that well also, my face which at the end of the day is an oily mess I can even compare it to the amount of oil that exists in a deep fryer but I digress looked like I gave it a water based cleanse. Like seriously it looks like I actually washed it. So it definitely didn’t take away from my usual lazy routine, in fact i think it kinda added something because on extremely lazy nights when your not feeling to remove your makeup then go in with a cleanser and then have to wash it off you can just use this because it certainly is an all-in-1 product. You can remove your makeup plus your cleansing it at the same time and there is no need to rinse. How awesome is that?

DSC00476DSC00469

The only thing that I’m not a fan of is that it left my eyelids feeling a bit sticky. And no not my face but my eyelids lol. I figure its because I have extremely hooded eyes and its just my eyelids hanging, doing their own thing and touching but if anyone else has the same problem as me let me know.

All in all its a great product I understand the hype especially for the price. I mean you can remove your makeup, use it as a stand alone cleanser or just as a means to look fresher from having a hectic day. I definitely recommend it. If you have used this whether it be any of the other types let me know if you liked it or not and if you have not let me know if your gonna pick it up. Till next time loves 😘

My Eyebrow Routine

So I must come clean and say that the inspiration for this post came from reading another blog post on eyebrows and keeping them shaped and maintained etc. And seeing that there I say I’m a little proud of the way my turn out when I do them and more so the long way that I have come in doing them and having them look up to standard lol. Cause let’s be honest in today’s social media crazed world eyebrows are it, in fact it could either make or break your entire makeup look.

So finally getting a routine that I like and personally compliments my face was very important and I’m truly satisfied.

Getting a good routine came in the help of makeupshayla she has a video up on her YouTube channel so you could check it out if your interested.

1. I first begin by combing all the hairs in the direction in which they grow.

2. Using my bh cosmetics flawless brow trio in medium I use the brush that it comes with (it actually works really good) and going into the wax that the palette contains with the angular side of the brush I begin with the top of my brows. I dont start at the beginning of the brow however, I do this so I dont get that fake look and everything looks more natural  About 1/4 way in I start to outline the top of my eyebrow and go all the way down to the end if your eyebrow needs extending like mine just extend it so that it meets the end of your eye when you line it up.

3. Do the same as in step 2 with the bottom of the brow this time with a little amount of product and a light hand you can start at the beginning of the brow.

4. Using the other side of the brush and going into the lighter of the powder shades I fill in my eyebrow hairs. Again don’t begin at the beginning of the brow so as not to get that boxy fake look.

5. I then use the angular side of the brush and going into the darker shade I fill in the last half of my brow. Thus giving a nice blended gradient look.

6. Using a spooley I lightly comb all the hairs to finish blend everything together.

Thanks so much for reading and I hope that you found this helpful. Let me know what you think and have a good day guys.

Colourpop Liquid Matte Lipsticks Review and Swatches.

Liquid matte lipsticks well this definitely needs no introduction as everyone and their grandmother knows or even owns at least one liquid lippie. Some persons however are either in love with liquid lippies or some steer clear of liquid lipsticks claiming them to be too drying. Me personally am in love with liquid lipsticks and think that you just need to find the right one with a good formula.

colour2
Love their cute packaging.

The colourpop liquid matte lipsticks I feel are a definite win for most people. The formula is not too drying, it lasts a really long time and I’m even talking about through eating and drinking as well, and the colours are very opaque so you don’t have to apply many coats to get a good color pay off.

Honestly I feel like there is not much to say as it is really a good liquid matte lipstick and come on you can’t argue with the price ($6). Here are some swatches so you can see the color pay off.

colour swatch

As you can see from the swatches I have a thing for neutrals lol. Hope you guys enjoyed this post and until next time. I just realized that yesterday was National Lipstick Day lol 😂 talk about timing, and colourpop also has 20% off all their lippie stix for national lipstick day so you guys could check it out.

M.A.C. Studio Fix Fluid Foundation Review !

Good day guys, I have honestly missed you all so much. It feels good to be back blogging again. I wanna jump right into this post but I just have to say expect regular posts from me again as I’m sure that I definitely wanna make this my career.

Mac studio fix fluid is my very first foundation from Mac. Actually it was my first purchase from them. I purchased it along with their zone treatment primer that I have an earlier post on. This foundation is catered to oily skin as it gives a matte finish so if your face is on the drier side I’m not to sure how it will favor for you. On the Mac website it says “it is a modern foundation that combines a matte finish and medium to full buildable coverage with broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 15/PA++ protection. Applies, builds and blends easily and evenly.”

DSC00360

Amazing shade it does not come with the pump however, although it could be purchased separately.

I just wanna say that *drumroll please* its all TRUE. It really is made for oily skin it gives you a matte finish but not overly drying. When I used it together with Mac’s prep and prime zone treatment primer I finally had some confidence that I wouldn’t get oily after only a few minutes(I suffer from extreme oily skin😩). When applying it however keep in mind that a little goes a long way so as stated by Mac it is a medium to full coverage, so you don’t have to be too generous with it, especially if you don’t want a heavy makeup look. Additionally it comes in a tremendous amount of shades which is great for people of color like myself who struggle to find the right shade and if you do you also have to worry about if it has the right undertone ugh! the struggle is real.

I would also like to add that since it gives you a nice matte finish there is no need to set it with a powder especially if your not accustomed to doing that anyways. Me however as previously mentioned is the queen of oily face (like literally you could fry an egg on my face) so i go in with a mattifying powder over it. The SPF 15 that it comes with is also a plus 😁.

As you can see the foundation is extremely mattifying but not “drying” however. So if your on the drier side I would not recommend this foundation for you. It also blaends seamlessly and flawlessly into the skin.

I’m definitely enjoying adding to my M.A.C collection and i can’t wait to get some more stuff. Looking froward to doing some more reviews. Until then hope everyone is having a great day and let me know what I should pick up from M.A.C to try and even do a review on. Thanks so much for reading

Real Techniques Bold Metal Brushes Dupe!

Good Day All hope you had an amazing week. I haven’t blogged in a while, because I have been busy and extremely tired. Working full-time and trying to blog is really a challenge so i applaud all of you trying your best to stick with it. I look forward to the day that i could blog full-time until then I’m gonna try my best to stick with it.

So I recently got into shopping on ebay and i must say it is quite addictive. Seeing all these beauty related items for an amazing price really can make your head do cartwheels. However I think most of us are aware of the fakes that can be bought on ebay which we should take extreme caution if we decide to purchase it. Anywho Real Techniques came out with new brushes called the “Bold Metals” line. Seven beautifully crafted brushes that come in three (3) colours – Gold, Rose Gold and Silver. I must say they are gorgeous they make you question the fact if you even want to use the brushes at all or just stare at their beauty lol.

The Real Techniques brushes which apparently is sold singularly or i have seen them in a set of three retails for US$13 per brush being the price of the cheapest brush in the set to US$21 for the most expensive. Now I love makeup but I found it a bit hard to drop that kinda money on a brush far less for if you wanted the entire set, the amount of cash that it would total.

So I went on ebay and saw alot of dupes for the bold metals brushes, now being new to ebay I did alot of searching around and found a seller that I was comfortable with and placed my order. Actually I moved so quickly because it said it was the last in stock that when I was entering my shipping address i forgot a part of it out but the seller was really nice and said that they fixed everything for me (I knew I had a good feeling about them lol).

The brushes came in this clear plastic bag.

Then each brush had its individual plastic.

DSC00324DSC00330

Even from the above photos I think you can see how soft the brushes are gonna feel.

I finally got my brushes after honestly over a month of waiting, because you have to keep in mind that alot of the items especially the cheaper ones are coming from China so its going to be quite a wait. It was worth it, the brushes are even more beautiful in person. Mind you they are extremely light. The real “bold metals” brushes are heavier as they are made from well actual METAL. The dupe brushes though are really soft and not scratchy or anything like that. So if you wanted to check out the bold metals brushes and didin’t want to drop that kinda coins definitely check out Ebay. This is the seller that I purchased mine from although the price now is a little more than what i spent. I purchased mine for US$4.13 + FREE Shipping CRAZY RIGHT!!! And that’s for the entire set not just for one brush. Mind = Blown. If you have the cash and do want to try the actual bold metals brushes it can be purchased here.

Hope you guys enjoyed my post and I’m looking forward to posting more. Have a great weekend

SILISPONGE Silicone Sponge Review

No doubt many of us have been seeing social media being plagued by this beauty trend of basically applying your makeup with……how shall I say it well……..ANYTHING. From bra inserts to tomatoes to i kid you not i even saw someone use a light bulb….bruh. No doubt things are getting a bit out of hand (that’s an understatement). For some strange reason though i feel that it kinda started with the Silisponge. A silicone based “sponge”, using the word sponge very lightly here because what makes a sponge a sponge is the fact that it can absorb whatever fluid or liquid that is thrown its way. The silisponge however doesn’t absorb anything. In fact that’s what the makers says is so great about it, the fact the you wont lose any product since the silisponge is not absorbing thereby no loss of product. But is this a pro or con? Actually i’ll get into that a little later in the review.

Now actually using the silisponge I must say that it takes a great deal of getting used to it. A great deal of patting your face with the sponge is involved lol since it doesn’t act like a brush or beauty blender. And getting into the areas such as your nose and blending it into your jawline can require a great deal of patience if you want to achieve a flawless or even a finish where there is no line or streaking.

I would just like to demonstrate how it works and applies for you guys to get a better understanding for what I’m talking about.

Application: So I applied the same amount of my L.a girl foundation on both the beauty blender and the silisponge. So as you can see with one swipe how much of product is left on the beauty blender whereas with the silisponge all the product can be utilized. This is advertised as a pro on the silisponge’s part but is it really? With all the extra product and the lack of blending ability of the silisponge however you spend a lot of time trying to blend it into your skin to get that flawless look. Personally the foundation that the beauty bleander absorbs is a good thing thereby giving you a flawless and no cakey cake finish lol

Final thoughts: The silisponge is a good idea however that money could be spent elsewhere, especially if u already if you already have the beauty blender. If your still curious about it, this is where you can purchase your silisponge, or for a more affordable version here is where you can the silisponge.

Have a great week guys

Juvia’s Place Worth The Hype?!!

Juvia’s Place is a highly sort after and reviewed new makeup brand that is inspired by Africa, from the iconic beauty that was Nefertiti to being inspired by African festivities that has so much of color, it can be easily seen from the packaging of their palettes to the product. With youtubers such as nikkitutorials, glamtwinz334 and lizlizlive just to name a few doing reviews of the brand it is easy to see why the brands popularity has been growing. Consisting of palettes, single eyeshadows, makeup brushes and until recently gel eyeliner, with their palettes being the most popular.

DSC00083 (2)

Being the makeup enthusiast that i  am however, i wanted to get my hands on their palettes myself. So taking advantage of the black friday sale i ordered all of the palettes that they had at that time which was The Nubian, The Nubian 2 and The Masquerade Palettes. My order arrived relatively and was nicely packaged. I didn’t however get an opportunity to swatch and use the palettes until recently, which might i say how did i go so long without using these bad boys.

The packages are extremely beautiful from the bright colors and the gorgeous designs. The colors in each palettes are so satisfying to look at, it just screams at you (in a good way though). And do i even have to mention this but yes!!! the colors are extremely pigmented that its crazy. It almost wants to make you cry, because the possibilities are endless with the various looks one can create with each palette.

DSC00085DSC00096

The Nubian – perfect for makeup beginners or persons who just cant get enough of a neutral eye; consisting of 4 matte shadows and 8 shimmer shadows.

DSC00087

DSC00104The Nubian 2 – ideal for persons slowly wanting to incorporate color in their makeup looks with neutral mattes and shimmer and some color shadows.

DSC00080DSC00107

The Masquerade – great for persons who love to experiment with their makeup having a wonderful selection of color.

All in all these palettes are definitely pushing the bar for affordable products that are of extremely amazing quality. Looking forward to ordering and playing with the Saharan Palette pretty soon and even trying out some of their brushes.
