Bh Cosmetics Brush Holder Review!

The last bh cosmetics purchase I did I convinced myself that I was only going to buy items to add to my makeup artist kit as like most women obsessed with makeup I knew I had a great deal that I haven’t even touched yet. So I went in with a plan in fact I even had a list, it was going to be quick in and out and no browsing in areas I didn’t have to. It was going wonderful, my cart was filled with items that I needed to add to my freelance makeup kit, then it happened. Somewhere between grabbing exactly the items that I needed I saw it. It was one of those items thats like recommended to you just floating there being a big distraction. Its not like I wasn’t interested in getting some cute makeup brush holders for myself, so I think the thought of that made the temptation so easier lol.

As I clicked on it I noticed that it came in a few colors – black, marble and pink. Immediately though I knew the marble was the one for me, so before I knew it I had two of these bad boys in my cart ready to be purchased. It also helped that bh cosmetics at the time had an amazing sale going on as they frequently do lol. I snagged those bad boys       for $3.89 a piece…….that’s crazy. I mean the original price of them isn’t bad either coming in at a nice $5.99 but who could refuse a sale.

It is an angular shape, shorter at the front and longer at the back with a faux leather material covering. It also has a nice bhcosmetics logo at the front in a piece of metal – rose gold color.

In terms of how many brushes its able to hold i would say quite a few as seen in the above photo i have the entire bhcosmetics sculpt and blend 2 brush set. In conclusion it was a very good purchase, I’m thinking about picking up another one or even a few more to either add more brushes or even to hold stationery on my desk. If your interested in picking one up you can find it here. Their on sale right now so you could grab them at $5.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and let me know your thoughts I really enjoyed reviewing this product. Till next time…..

Nails of the Week!

Like most women I love having my nails looking well done. I do however, paint them myself as I love switching the colors often. Not to mention the great number of compliments I receive from people thinking that they look fake. Sorry guys but they are all natural lol. I did some damage in the nail polish department as I picked up quite a bit Revlon and Sally Hansen nail polishes that I can’t wait to do future posts on.

The color that I chose this week is from Revlon. A light orange color that isn’t too bright and adds that right pop of color. Perfect for the spring/summer to add that extra life to your outfits.

DSC00985.JPG

This is the color with no direct light and as you can see it isnt very bright. Its from Revlon and the name is “Priviledged”. I love Revlon nail polishes the last quite a while on your nails not to mention I love their color selction. I think this color would be perfect for the spring time.

I hope I’m able to do more of these posts in the future. For now I just want to thank you for reading and even though it was a short post it was fun for me to write. Have a good day guys.

Maxi Skirt and the Islands!

Reading the title of this post I feel like there should be pictures of me frolicking on the beach in a long skirt fit for tropical weather. But its neither, but more so just a statement of where I live – the islands. Not to mention I was getting major tropics vibes from the gorgeous scenery behind me lol.

I don’t think I ever did a fashion post on here except maybe for my Forever 21 haul a while back but that totally doesn’t count. It would be a dream of mine to get some awesome fashion posts on here so perhaps I should start with this one. I don’t know how helpful it would be though since the items I’m wearing I don’t really have any links to purchase them but I really loved how the photos came out so I decided to do a blog post on it anyway.

I love being creative and doing mini photoshoots lol even its just me and a relative taking my pics to me its still artistic and definitely something I like to do for fun. This picture taking session starting off really random with no main theme behind it. In fact this was my Sunday ootd and I got quite a few compliments on it so why not capture it lol. Looking back now I really wish I had taken detailed pics, like that of my accessories and such but I really didn’t intend on this being a fashion post so here we are lol.

DSC01083

The top that I decided to pair this skirt with I’ve worn a few times already but I absolutely love it. Its a semi crop top with lots of sequin circles to the front giving it an elegant look.

DSC01081

Was absolutely head over heels with the movement of this skirt. It has a nice solid feel to it certainly not cheap quality in the least.

DSC01080

Finally for accessories I paired it with a pair of leopard print sandals heels that gives it that extra sexy look, a silver bangle for that nice material and my black sunnies that is reminiscent of old Hollywood.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading as this post happened a bit on a whim, but I really wanted to get something up nonetheless. Have a great day guys

Fenty Beauty Review!

I feel like I’m the last one on this planet to do a review of the Fenty Beauty products but I still wanted to upload it in case someone would be interested. I only purchased two(2) products from the Fenty Beauty line – the primer and the foundation. I feel like everyone has their makeup product that they are absolutely addicted to for me its foundation and lipsticks so I had to grab a foundation. Youtube, instagram as well as all the beauty blogs have been going crazy for the foundation so my expectation was set pretty high.

Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer – it helps smooth your skin for a better foundation application while stopping shine and minimizing the appearance of pores (these are the claims). My experience is not too far off, firstly I have to comment on the scent since that is the first thing that hits you. It is not heavy at all in fact it’s a light, fresh scent that has your face smelling clean dare I say lol. The texture is quite smooth, not heavy nor too light. And as for the application it goes on just as it feels, smooth and light. It isn’t drying at all nor is it too mattifying. It does cast a nice base for your foundation application helping your foundation to go on way smoother and even quicker thus having less work to do. In terms of “diffusing” pores I would say it does it a little but not a whole lot, it still gets the job done.

IMG_20171128_120946

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longer Foundation – for this I wanna jump right into my experience and can I just say how in love I am with this foundation. Starting off firstly with the shade that matches me perfectly (410). As a woc with yellow undertone it can be quite a challenge to find that perfect foundation as most makeup companies just seem to think that all woc have red/orange undertone. So this foundation coming out with all the different shades as well as undertones was highly appreciated. So the shade matches me perfectly, it also blends in quite smoothly, however you wanna blend it in quickly as it does dry down matte quickly. For the coverage it is very light, one pump would give you a light coverage almost skin-like, two pumps medium coverage still giving you that nice, natural skin-like coverage. So if your into full coverage foundations this may not be the foundation for you.          Wear – all I have to say is it lasts. I had no problem after many hours of wear with this foundation it looked amazing and was still holding on lol.

In closing I am in love with both of the items that I decided to pick up. I am looking forward to expanding my Fenty Beauty collection however and I’m super excited about the launch of the Body Lava luminizer and FairyBomb Glittering Pom Pom that will be dropping this Friday April 6th. How many of you guys are gonna be purchasing something from the new collection?

Fave NYX Face Products!

I’ve been enjoying trying out various makeup brands lately and I must say I’m pleasantly surprised at just how much I’ve been loving Nyx. I know they are a brand with a great deal of positive reviews especially seeing that they are on the affordable side, but I am still very impressed. Here are a few of the face products that I have been loving from them lately:

First Base primer spray – it claims to smooth your skin thereby giving you that flawless makeup application. This I found to be a sort of reach but it does give your face a refreshing feeling without being sticky like some sprays may tend to do.

Born to Glow liquid illuminator – Can I say obsessed. I feel like everyone should be including this in their makeup routine. Even if your on the oily side like myself it does not make your skin look greasy, it does give your skin a natural glow. It says you can use it under your foundation for that illuminated look which I definitely recommend. Or it says it can be used as a subtle highlight which for me I wasn’t too crazy over because I found it to be too light.

DSC00823

Total control drop foundation – it is a drop foundation that allows to “control” the type of coverage that your feeling for that day, completely buildable it gives you the option of sheer or full coverage and might I add without feeling heavy. Despite the fact that it looks like it might give you an oily finish it dries quickly to a nice matte finish. I can see why it is deemed the best seller on the nyx website. Not to mention it comes in 24 shades really a good step.

HD studio photogenic concealer – what can I say…..its not cakey, gives you the right amount of coverage and matches my skin completely…..I’m a happy customer 😊

Stay Matte but not flat powder – this product is so lightweight and fine its like I didn’t even put anything on my face which I personally love. The color blends into my skin without any trace. Persons with a orange/red undertone may find it a bit hard to find a shade though as the salesclerk informed me that they tend to have a yellow undertone which for me I love because my undertone is completely yellow and I find it a bit hard as a WOC to find products to match my skin.

IMG_20171112_185117_199

So now can you see why I have been loving the NYX face products lately. They are a must try……I’ll do a full post on the total contral drop foundation soon…..in the mean time hope you guys enjoyed reading

Wonderful World/Drugstore Haul

So I did a bit of shopping over the weekend and picked up a couple of beauty items that I feel we as beauty lovers can never have enough of, which is basically my way of justifying another beauty purchase. Do you guys do that or just me? lol.

Alot of the items were things I needed backup in or items that I wanted to try. The Cala makeup removing wipes are pretty inexpensive but mind you they work pretty well. I wanted to try a brush cleaning pad so I picked up the Urban Studio one and I must say it is coming in handy especially if you did a dramatic look the day before and your eye brushes are dirty it definitely makes it ready to use with a couple of passes. I’m not saying it’s the best on the market but it gets the job done. I saw they had an eyeshadow primer so i grabbed one its by L.A. Colors. I never really used eyeshadow primers I’ve always been the type to use concealer as my primer or use a white base for my eyeshadows. Trying this I can honestly say it’s not that super amazing I’ll probably try a more high-end primer next time.

haul

Finally, I picked up a liquid eyeliner as I mostly have gel eyeliners in my collection at the moment. I also wanted to try the technique where makeup artists place a puff between the clients face and their fingers so you won’t be placing your hand on the person’s face so I bought a face puff, something that I haven’t owned for a while. I also wanted to add another beauty blender (dupe) to my collection I feel like you could never have too much of these lol. And I bought some more of the Ardell individuals, personally I love wearing individuals over strip lashes I don’t really like putting on strip lashes, they come off quickly at the corners got you looking crazy 😂.

Lastly I saw the L.A. Girl brushes that they recently came out with and being the brush hoarder that I am I wanted to give them a try. They are super soft and work really well the angled brush that comes with a spooley I won’t recommend for doing eyebrows as it is not stiff enough but it is great for using it with gel liner or placing shadow on the lower lash line.

Hope you guys enjoyed my mini haul. Until next time

M.A.C Fix + the many Uses.

I feel like this product needs no introduction as a lot of us have tried it or got a chance to play around with it and most of us have had great results, so I’m gonna try something a little different where I’m not gonna do a typical review. We are all familiar with the step at the end of doing our makeup where we spray some of our M.A.C Fix +. But were you aware that it is actually not a “setting” spray. We spray it when we’re finished doing our makeup  to help give a flawless look. If our makeup is looking on the powdery/cakey side M.A.C Fix + would help to give us a natural look. Not to make our makeup last for hours. There are a number of other uses for this amazing product however, so sit back and relax as I name a few :-

fix 3

  1. You can also use Fix + before you apply your makeup it will give your face that much needed hydration as well as providing a nice base for your makeup.
  2. Another great way to use it is as a mixing medium. You can mix in some Fix + with a little bit of eyeshadow to create a custom eyeliner. Also if you have any eyeshadow that you don’t like because the color pay off is not too great, just put some of the shadow on your brush then spray it with Fix + trust me you’ll notice a huge difference. This would also help to make the eyeshadow last longer.

fix 2The top swatch is an old shadow that I have and as you can see it is not very pigmented and at the bottom is the same shadow with Fix +.

3.  In addition on hotter days you can use it to thin out your foundation or concealer for a lighter coverage.

4. This other use for Fix + I honestly wish I knew months ago but if you have any dried up gel liners don’t throw them away just spray some Fix + inside and swirl it  around until you get that creamy consistency again.

fix 4

So there you have it guys some of the very important uses for M.A.C Fix +. Did you guys know of these uses, do you use Fix + in a similar way, did this information help you and are you going to try any of this out? Let me know and I hoped you enjoyed reading until next time.

Golden Highlighted Eyes and Nude Lips!

So this post is gonna be my first ever “tutorial” here on my blog. Honestly I did this look a few weeks back and had no intention on it being a tutorial I was just having fun with my makeup, but I really liked how it turned out so why not share it. I don’t have that many photos in terms of a step by step process because as I stated I didn’t know that I would be posting this but I believe it can still be useful. Firstly:

1. I primed my face with the BH cosmetics foundation primer.

2. I then did my usual eyebrow routine that I have a post on here

3. I primed my eyes with a white creamy base to make the colors more vibrant the NYX Jumbo pencil in milk will be perfect.

4. For the eyes I used my Nubian 2 & Masquerade palette. I used The shade “Jezebel” and “Morrocco” as my transition color then I went into the shade “Zobo” in my inner and outer corners in the middle I popped on the lovely gold color that you see “Nairobi”. For the inner come I used a lavender shimmer shade from my BH 88 shimmer palette. I then lined my waterline with a black pencil eyeliner (anyone would do the trick). I used some mascara to top of the look and as for lashes I was already wearing individuals from Ardell which I will do a blog post about “how to apply them” pretty soon.

IMG_20171021_182845 (2)

5. For foundation I used the Milani conceal + perfect 2-in-1 concealer and foundation in chestnut before applying foundation however I color corrected with the l.a girl orange corrector.

6. Concealer I used my l’oreal true match in medium/deep that I absolutely love, and to highlight my l.a. girl concealer in warm honey.

7. Powder I used my l’oreal infallible pro-matte powder in classic tan that matches my skin perfectly and to set my under eye highlight I lightly baked using the Sacha Buttercup Setting Powder.

8. To contour I used the BH cosmetics contour & blush 2 palette

9. I finished off the look using Sacha cosmetics Intense lipshine gloss in “Whatever”, that I also have a review ohere

Hope you guys enjoyed this post/mini tutorial although its not as in depth as i would have liked it, I do promise to get better. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend.

Sacha Intense Lipshine Gloss Review & Swatches!

Good day lovelies, hope everyone’s week is starting off well. So jumping right into this post i picked these bad boys up a few weeks back so I had ample time to play around with them and see how they wear. Now like most of us I love liquid lipsticks so when I was in the Sacha cosmetics store I was looking at their Intense Matte Lip Velvet trying to see if there were any new colours that caught my eye. But low and behold I found an array of these lipshine glosses. I was super curious to see the pigmentation of them so i grabbed a few testers and swatched it on the back of my hand, and I must say i found it to be extremely creamy and highly pigmented. I was quite pleased and I grabbed three(3) colours that I know would have worked well with my skin-tone.(Was trying not to go too crazy)

The packaging is super sleek and cute as it is square and compact with a nice matte black cover. The applicator is your regular gloss applicator and it doesn’t really have a fragrance so I think people who are sensitive to fragrances can even pick it up.Here are the swatches:

IMG_20171018_095804

Its super creamy with a nice shine, also it is not sticky at all in fact I would describe it as being buttery smooth. Did I mention they are quite inexpensive. It’s a nice way to take a break from the liquid lipsticks and the matte look. Hope you guys enjoyed reading and have a wonderful week.

EBAY Finds!!!

Hey lovelies hope you all are doing well i wanted to do this post for like forever now however if your familiar with ebay you know the tremendous wait you have to endure at times. Which imma be honest has definitely caused my love hate relationship with them. But that’s what you get at times when you’re paying a cheap price. I still wanted to share with you guys the items that I ordered some took as long as a month to get to me so just keep that in mind if you decide to purchase any of the items.

I picked up alot of sunglasses, I guess I got a little overjoyed when I saw the cute designs for a low price. 😂 I mean it was a necessary purchase lol. The items can be seen as pictured below -:

IMG_20171018_110918[1]

All the sunglasses arrived well packaged and intact. I also picked up 100 disposable mascara wands for doing makeup on clients. In addition to a 12 piece eye-brush set. If you can tell from the picture I even grabbed one of those fish brushes that I’ve seen everywhere on instagram. Lastly the last item is a sort of eye protector so you don’t mess up your eye makeup when applying mascara, it was super affordable. I’ll definitely try to make this ebay finds a regular on my blog as you can get some really fun items on ebay. Thanks for reading guys
